Just-in-Time Learning

Just-in-time learning delivers small, focused pieces of knowledge to learners at the exact moment they need them to perform a task, rather than in advance through scheduled courses. Examples include a quick how-to video opened mid-task, a searchable knowledge base, a job aid, or an in-app prompt. It recognises that much of what we learn is forgotten if not applied immediately, so providing answers at the point of need improves both performance and retention. Closely related to performance support and microlearning, just-in-time learning is increasingly delivered through mobile and 'learning in the flow of work' tools.
