Course Format

A course format determines how a course's content is laid out and navigated. In Moodle, common formats include Topics (sections by subject), Weekly (sections by date), Single Activity and Social (forum-centred). The chosen format shapes the learner experience — a compliance course might use a single linear path, while a semester-long university course suits the weekly format. Course formats can be extended with plugins to create grid, tabbed or card-based layouts for a more modern interface.
