BigBlueButton

BigBlueButton is an open-source web-conferencing system designed specifically for online learning, and it integrates tightly with Moodle as a virtual-classroom activity. It supports real-time audio and video, screen sharing, a multi-user whiteboard, breakout rooms, polls, shared notes, chat and session recording. Because it is purpose-built for teaching rather than general meetings, it includes education-focused features and can launch directly from a Moodle course with single sign-on. BigBlueButton lets institutions run live, synchronous classes inside their LMS without relying on a separate third-party tool, and recordings can be made available afterwards for asynchronous review.
