ADDIE Model

ADDIE is a foundational instructional-design framework that structures the creation of learning experiences into five phases: Analyse, Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluate. In Analyse, designers identify the audience, learning needs and goals. Design defines objectives, structure, assessment strategy and media. Develop produces the actual content and activities. Implement delivers the course to learners, and Evaluate measures whether it achieved its objectives, feeding improvements back into the cycle. Although sometimes criticised as slow when applied rigidly and linearly, ADDIE remains the most widely taught model in the field, and modern teams often run it iteratively or alongside more agile methods. It gives instructional designers a clear, repeatable process for building effective, goal-aligned training rather than assembling content ad hoc.
